Dr. William Foley D.O., M.Sc.

Dr. William (Bill) Foley, D.O., M.Sc., has been practicing full-scope traditional osteopathic medicine since 2001. He founded Boston Osteopathic Health in Newton, MA in 2008. From that time, Boston Osteopathic Health has blossomed to include additional physicians and two sites to meet increasing patient needs. Using his extensive knowledge of conventional as well as non-traditional medicine, combined with traditional osteopathic treatments, he offers his patients the most comprehensive care possible.

Dr. Bill Foley is an Osteopathic Family Physician, Board Certified in Family Medicine, Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He was recently promoted to Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Department of Family Medicine, and is Clinical Instructor of Family Medicine for Tufts School of Medicine. He has also served as an Assistant Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at the University of New England. Additionally, he has held the position of Director of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital, the University of Massachusetts, as well as Great Brook Valley Health Center. He is a board member and has served as the President of the Massachusetts Osteopathic Society.

Dr. Bill Foley has lectured at local, national, and international medical conferences for such groups as Harvard Medical School, the Osteopathic Cranial Academy, the American Academy of Osteopathy, Melbourne Studies in Biodynamic Osteopathy, the Swiss Osteopathic Center for Kids, and the Massachusetts Academy of Family Medicine. He has also conducted research using osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) for carpal tunnel syndrome and TMJ syndrome. As a teaching member of the Berkshire Osteopathic Study Group, the A Still Sutherland Study Group (ASSSG) , he regularly delivers several osteopathic lectures throughout the year.

Dr. Bill Foley currently conducts 3-4 day conferences for advanced osteopathic post-graduate trainees including Osteopathic Treatment of the GI system, Treatment of the Pregnant Patient, and Advanced Anatomy and Osteopathy (Anatomy 101). Dr. Kristin Foley D.O., C.M.D., H.M.D.C. is board certified in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. She has been practicing traditional osteopathy since 2005. Currently she is Hospice Medical Director at Kindred Hospice in the Marlborough branch. As well, she is a voluntary Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. She has served as Medical Director of three hospice organizations in Central Massachusetts. She has lectured extensively on topics of geriatric and family medical care for Internal Medicine and Family Medicine resident physicians, geriatric fellows and medical students at UMass.

Dr. K. Foley graduated with highest honors in Biology from Bates College with a Bachelor of Science in 1993. After working conducting neuroscience research in Alzheimer’s disease at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and traumatic brain injury at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Foley earned her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at University of Massachusetts in 2004 after being chief resident in her final year. She completed her fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at University of Pennsylvania in 2005. She also is a certified Medical Director (CMD) and a holds a Hospice Medical Director Certification (HMDC).

Dr. K. Foley is a board member of the Massachusetts Osteopathic Society, which is a non-profit organization supporting osteopathic physicians in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. As well, she is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the Cranial Academy. Before joining Boston Osteopathic Health in 2012, she served as attending physician and geriatric fellowship faculty at UMass Medical School, Autumn Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, and St. Mary Health Care Center.

Dr. K. Foley has a specialty practice in traditional osteopathic comprehensive care of patients, treating acute and chronic disorders using osteopathic treatment. She sees palpation and human touch as vital components to connecting to a patient and providing effective medical care. She believes in thoughtful and sensitive review of medication delivery, with the elimination of ineffective or harmful pharmacologic agents. Her appreciation of the infinite beauty and complexity of the human body drives her passion for osteopathic care.

Laena Ohannessian, Medical Office Coordinator

Laena has been working in customer service for the last 18 years. Her past employment as an Administrative Assistant for a transportation company and previous to that managing a salon, gave her the tools and skillset for her most recent position as a Medical Administrative Assistant for a local medical practice. Due to her background and knowledge of medical office procedures, Laena was able to quickly step into the role here as a Medical Office Coordinator in August of 2019. Laena’s experience working with patients and the public has made her an asset to our team.
